DECLARATION OF INTEREST

To receive disclosures of personal interest from Members in accordance with the Code of Conduct

 

Note:

 

1.    Members are requested to identify the item number and subject matter that their interest relates to and signify the nature of the personal interest: and

2.  Where Members withdraw from a meeting as a consequence of the disclosure of a prejudicial interest they must notify the Chairman when they leave.

To receive the minutes of the previous meeting of the Local Education Authority Governors Appointments Committee held on 19th June 2024.

Minutes:

It was RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the 19th June 2024 as an accurate reflection of the meeting, subject to it being noted that the declaration of personal interest made by Councillor S. Evans, should read as follows, “I will leave the meeting whilst this item is being discussed”.

TO CONSIDER PASSING THE UNDER-MENTIONED RESOLUTION: -

“That the press and public be excluded from the meeting under Section 100A (4) of the Local Government Act 1972 for the next item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 12 Schedule 12(A) of the Act.”

Minutes:

RESOLVED that the press and public be excluded from the meeting under Section 100A (4) of the Local Government Act 1972 for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 13 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act (as amended), namely, information relating to a particular individual. Transparency in the conduct of Local Authority business is desirable, however, personal data relating to the conduct and capabilities of individuals will be discussed and considered. Consequently, it is considered the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs and the public interest in disclosing information.

APPLICATION FOR APPOINTMENT OF LOCAL EDUCATION AUTHORITY GOVERNORS

To consider applications for the appointment of Local Education Authority Governors

Minutes:

In her report, the Senior Manager of Governor Support Emergency Planning and advised the Committee of the application received for Local Education Authority governorship.
